Connection from past lives
Jozef Rulof goes into the resemblance in the face between child and mother:
If the mother gives birth to the child and she has attracted it, then you will feel, then the child gets – it looks exactly like the mother, for example – then the child gets the face of the mother; it is of course different, but the face and the personality of the mother lies in it, because her life of feeling has laid this foundation.

In the following quotation Jozef further explains that the child can also go through ‘us as a man’, by which he means that the father has a connection with the child by means of his past lives.
In that case during the entire duration of the pregnancy the father remains connected to the child, as a result of which the child can look like him.
That connection is usually hidden in the depth of the soul as a result of which the father as a personality does not know this:
If it goes through us, then the man remains – without the father knowing it, the man does not know that – without him knowing that, one with that life all that time.

Jozef says in his answer that the father remains one in feeling with the child during the entire pregnancy.
However, is the word ‘remain’ used here correctly, is there a question here of remaining?
I said: the man remains one.
But is that possible, ‘remaining’?
Is that word ‘remaining’ appropriate?

The oneness of the souls involved is already much older than the current pregnancy.
In this case, the father and the child are already connected from the moment that that connection was entered into in their past lives.
And now a new episode in that connection follows, a new step in order to reach harmony with each other:
No, because that man had already been one for thousands of years with this life.

The connection with the child is not entered into at the moment that the soul is attracted, but in the past life during which both souls had to do with each other:
So the soul which we attract and which goes through me, that is not on the moment that I attract that soul; no, madam, there are still thousands walking round the earth like that with whom I am involved, and I do not attract them, I remain there, I am one with those people, because I have attracted those people into my life.

You must go back to perhaps the prehistoric age in order to free yourself from a soul which you already experienced there, and beat to bits and pieces.

That is not the child which comes just like that, because we were already involved with that life.
If we are not involved with that life, with that soul, that personality, then we could not even attract that life.

The face of the child is of course not exactly the same as the father or the mother.
In the first instance the inner life of the reincarnated soul creates the own face:
So the life of feeling, we talked about that a moment ago, creates and gives birth to the face.
It looks like the mother or the father, but you create and give birth to the face.
But according to your life of feeling you give birth, you create, the face is formed, the face radiates it.

More than the face
The reproductive cell of the connected parent is dominant:
If you have tuberculosis and you attract the child, the child gets tuberculosis, because your cell has a dominant influence on the child.
Now the man attracts a child and the child is free from tuberculosis.

Science cannot explain this, because it does not think of reincarnation:
There are seven children there, and three, four have tuberculosis.
But you can see on the face of the child that the father attracted those children, and they are free from tuberculosis.
That was already scientifically established long ago.
The doctors did not know it, do not understand the core, of course.
That the father is capable of protecting the child – but because of the birth by the mother – against tuberculosis, has been scientifically explained.
But people do not know the deep cosmic core, that analysis.
But science already knows: remarkable, this life apparently originated because of the man.
No, they cannot think that far, because then you are immediately ‘beyond the coffin’, and then you get rebirth, then you get reincarnation.
