All our feelings

In the book ‘Between Life and Death’, the temple priest Venry sees his past life again as Father Taiti.
He observes that all the memories and feelings from past lives continue to form part of his soul:
to what I had worn at the time, it belonged to that life.
Consequently, I lived in reality, because all events we experienced, the feelings and qualities that we acquired remained in us and will always be part of the soul.
During all those centuries, nothing had changed, only in me, which meant the feeling, my striving for good.
In that life, I perished.
What I now experienced was a miracle to me.
In this way, I could review many lives.
All these lives needed to be awakened.
Between Life and Death, 1940
In a next life as Alonzo he wonders why he is as he is.
His spiritual guide explains to him that the driving force in order to search comes from his soul:
“The feeling which resides in you, which is you yourself, and which the soul acquired and is felt as feeling, touches this consciousness which manifests itself in your searching and yearning.
If this is clear to you, Alonzo, you will feel that the soul must acquire all of these feelings, which requires many lives.
It cannot be accomplished in one short earthly life.
Between Life and Death, 1940
Our soul recognizes the people who will form part of our life.
In the book ‘Masks and Men’, it is explained to Karel why Marja knew how she would find her happiness:
Marja knew inside that, when she attracted that man to her, she would experience her happiness.
As a child, you will hear that from her later, she already knew that.
Just as the past awakened in me, that knowledge came back to her life.
Every life demands the past consciousness.
When you are therefore born that past comes up.
You cannot do anything about it, those emotional powers force you to accept them.
You are not different, you do not act different.
This is our incredible subconscious.
It is this which the academics make such a fuss about and for which they can never find a conclusive answer, because they do not accept reincarnation.
It is therefore clear that when the soul awakens, you already live in your past, the previous life.
You cannot get round that, Karel!
All those feelings from one life, it is so much feeling from your infinite subconscious, now forms the personality.
Masks and Men, 1948

The inspiration of our body

The soul is the life that brings the material body to inspiration.
In order to reincarnate, the soul first goes to a world which has a connection with the embryo:
It is the world of connection in which the human being, the soul, lives who will return to the earth.
From here the soul therefore goes back into the material body and is the life which brings the material to vivification.
That is being born on earth.
The Cycle of the Soul, 1938
As a result, the embryo is inspired:
I could also call this sphere the world of the embryo, because from here the embryo is vivified.
The Cycle of the Soul, 1938
The world of the embryo is also referred to as the world of the unconscious.
From there, the soul begins with her new life, for which she needs a new material organism:
What has fallen asleep in the world of the unconsciouss, will awake when this life is born again and this is the inspiration for the development of the material organism.
The Origin of the Universe, 1939
The soul feeds the body until her life plan has been completed.
In the article ‘euthanasia and suicide’, this theme is further elaborated.
In the article ‘dying as passing on’, it is described how the soul of the human being conquers death:
What appears like dying is the releasing of the soul, and she goes further!
The Cosmology of Jozef Rulof Part 5, 1944
It is not our material body that lives, our soul is the life that inspires our body:
The majority of humans here on earth really think that they live materially, but you only become separate from the body, and you will soon enter the world for your soul, the world for your spirit and you will be an astral personality.
Lectures Part 1, 1950

Our reincarnated life of feeling

The earthly academic still does not look beyond the coffin:
You doctors too.
You do not know the soul.
You know nothing about her infinite life.
You continue to stand before the ‘coffin’ and do not look over it.
But she now lives there as a spiritual personality.
As if God did not create anything else but such a little material being.
The Cosmology of Jozef Rulof Part 3, 1944
But both the human ‘will’ and the personality are one, is one life, but is also feeling.
And that wonderful machine, Dr Freud, Jung, Kant, Schopenhauer, you were never able to analyse, you do not know this clockwork.
The Cosmology of Jozef Rulof Part 3, 1944
When descending into the embryonic life, the soul adapts herself to the small material cell:
However, inner life adapts itself to that material organism, which, during this stage, is embryonic life.
The Origin of the Universe, 1939
Yet the whole life of feeling of the soul remains intact:
The human cell as an embryo is so trivial, but still with all the life of feeling and consciousness - and do you accept that - that we already mastered ourselves.
Questions and Answers Part 3, 1952
At that moment, the human life of feeling has gone to sleep in order to not disturb the fragile embryo:
Yes, madam, the soul has returned there to equal harmony and that means: it has gone to sleep, in order to attune itself to the birth.
Questions and Answers Part 1, 1950
Yet at that moment the soul keeps all the characteristics which she has developed in her past lives.
Those characteristics will awaken, as the material body grows up:
The inner life returns to embryonic life.
We also know that this inner life has lived before and has acquired several qualities in that life.
Yet, and this is the wonder I want to explain, inner life retains all these qualities it has acquired in all those centuries.
All those qualities are present in the inner life and will awaken as the material organism matures.
The Origin of the Universe, 1939
We cannot have acquired all our characteristics during one brief earthly life:
When the human being on earth wonders how he got all those qualities, then the life has mastered them in previous lives, and all of that has the purpose of awakening spiritually.
We know that people have to master everything by experiencing it and learning it and that people also have to accept that all these characteristics cannot be mastered in a short earthly life.
The soul needs thousands of years for that. And what are a thousand years on this side?
The Cycle of the Soul, 1938

Our eternal evolution

What we begin in one life, we continue in a next life:
Just think about what you have to do, today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, in two weeks’ time; in two centuries’ time you will be ready.
You will experience yourself eternally.
Lectures Part 1, 1950
The human being who does not yearn for wealth because he feels inwardly that it will not make him happy, must have once experienced that wealth, otherwise he cannot know this inwardly:
Now a different image: Someone has property on earth.
He is happy, because he owns a lot.
Prosperity on earth means happiness to many.
But someone with spiritual feeling said to the rich man: ‘My spiritual knowledge means more to me, my spiritual treasures have more value than all your possessions.’
And these forces, this I want to stress, have induced the person, due to all his material property, to renounce everything belonging to the earth.
He possesses happiness in the spirit and he is poor in matter.
These are two different states of spiritual attunement.
Both dwell on earth.
The one doesn’t understand that the other doesn’t yearn for riches.
Yet another commits a murder to possess matter and riches.
And we see these kinds of conditions by the thousands.
Now for the core of all these conditions: the spiritual being must have lived in a certain condition to renounce all these riches in his present life, to know that they won’t make him happy. They will cause nothing but trouble, which is why he no longer wants them.
He must know what it means to possess a lot of matter on earth.
He can only know by having experienced this once, under all kinds of circumstances.
A View into the Hereafter, 1936
By means of many lives, we will master everything that is possible to learn on earth:
Those who do possess that knowledge and have attained the appropriate force of feeling, have developed a condition in life which makes them realize that they’re on earth for a higher purpose, which are different conditions again.
So man will go on learning his lessons on earth and will also have to cast off what he wanted to possess in some other condition.
Man will discard and make amends for the destructive traits he manifested in a former life on earth.
I could go on explaining thousands of different conditions of life which would enable me to show you that everything man learns and will still learn is learnt on earth.
A View into the Hereafter, 1936

I am soul

On earth, people still look at the human being as material, as body, people still do not look at the inner life of the soul:
What does the human being always look at?
It looks at the human being as material.
I will show you now that you do not yet know the inner human being.
Lectures Part 2, 1951
Jozef Rulof indicates that we reincarnate in all countries, and that our powerful subconscious will ultimately contain all the experiences from our past lives in those various countries, peoples and languages.
The skin colour tells us nothing about the soul:
Yes, madam, America, France, Germany, the jungle and all the languages and all the peoples of the earth who live in our hearts, who are part of our subconsciousness.
Sir, do not shout at a Frenchman or a Russian, it was we ourselves!
Do you not feel, do you not find all of this just?
Do you see?
If you say that you are white, sir, it could be that the black radiance runs ahead of you, and we say: ‘Ha, there you have a Negro (see article ‘Against racism and discrimination’ on rulof.org).’
A black white Negro.
Questions and Answers Part 2, 1951
We now draw from our past lives:
People also asked the master this question in Amsterdam and he said: ‘You are now drawing from your previous life.
You can only use that, which you now master after this life.
That means, you still have to master this life.
You now draw from your previous life, your French, your German and your Russian probably, you have talent, that is also a part of it.
Because, when you come to the earth, you still know nothing about this life.
You therefore have to master it!
Where do your countess airs and graces come from?
Received just like that?
All of this belongs to your previous life!
We see arts and sciences again, madam, as a result of our emotional life.
We built up all our characteristics as a result of many lives.
Questions and Answers Part 1, 1950
As long as the human being wants the good:
The roots are the same in every religion.
If someone longs to do good, then who cares whether he’s a Jew, a Christian or a Muslim?
A View into the Hereafter, 1936
Ultimately, as a result of our many lives we receive the whole of mankind as experience in our life of feeling:
All of mankind lives in one human being.
